A Rich History

Beaver Run Resort’s name and history are deeply intertwined with the natural and human events of Breckenridge, Colorado. In the late 1960s, beavers constructed a pond and dam on the hillside above the current resort location, leading to a landslide that reshaped the land. Inspired by this, Judy Girvin, wife of co-founder Bob Girvin, suggested the name “Beaver Run,” crediting the beavers for making the land “run.” The resort’s development began in 1978, with the first condo unit sold in Februar 1980. Over the years, Beaver Run has expanded its facilities and amenities, including the addition of Spencer’s Restaurant and the Copper Top, while maintaining a strong connection to the Breckenridge community.
