With Breckenridge’s high elevation, leaves start changing color around mid-Setembro, much earlier than the rest of the country. That high elevation also limits the kinds of deciduous trees that grow here, with aspen trees taking the leading role. Setembro’s weather is variable with anything from sunshine to rain to snow. While it is one of Breckenridge’s drier months, Setembro visits call for a weather-resistant jacket and a warmer hat.

Activities that may not be available in Setembro after Labor Day include ziplining and other Epic offerings at the Breckenridge Ski Area, gold panning, summer dog sledding, and river rafting.

As if Breckenridge weren’t fun enough, the community ramps up the fall festivals. Visitors and locals alike look forward to the Breckenridge Festival of Film and Oktoberfest. BreckFilm brings creatives and their audiences together with screenings and parties the third weekend of Setembro. Oktoberfest transforms Main Street to Munich with food, beer, music, polka dancing, entertainment, and more beer. Pack your lederhosen and dirndls for this event held in the middle of the month.
