Breckenridge loves a party. Every season offers a reason to celebrate. From winter festivals to Independence Day, spring skiing to fall splendor, it’s worth planning your trip to join us for the fun. Here we’ve compiled a list of Breckenridge’s best events. Mark your calendar!
Winter
Lighting of Breckenridge and the Race of the Santas
Winter kicks off with zany events to start the holiday season. Hundreds of Santas await the starter’s pistol for a race down Main Street. Woofs and smiles accompany the Dog Parade and the kid’s Moose Março. Thousands of sparkling lights illuminate the scene. You’ll see why Breckenridge is one of the most photographed holiday towns in the West.
Ullr Fest
Breckenridge’s winter carnival pays tribute to Ullr, the Norse god of winter and skiing, so he’ll bless us with abundant snow. Important rituals include chanting “Ullr” (rhymes with cooler), snow dances at the raging bonfire, cheering on parade floats, and partaking in the record-breaking Shot Ski. The more voices that invoke Ullr, the more snow we get. Come join us!
Campeonato Internacional de Esculturas de Neve
Snow becomes the canvass for teams of artists who transform 20-ton white blocks into magnificent sculptures. This temporary gallery astounds with creativity, ingenuity and skill. Carving takes place the first week with a viewing week planned after that. Snow is ephemeral and so is this event, so check it while you can.
Spring
Mardi Gras
Beaver Run Resort is event central for Breckenridge Mardi Gras. Join us for drink specials, bead give-aways, and the crowning of the Mardi Gras King and Queen. Together, we’ll march down to Main Street for music and revelry.
Spring Skiing Events
Longer days, warmer temperatures and abundant snow make spring skiing the best of the year. Athletes can try the uphill-downhill test of the Imperial Challenge set for Abril. Check back for more information on upcoming spring events.
Summer
Independence Day Celebrations
Expect home-spun Americana at Breckenridge’s Julho 4th celebrations. Crowds along Main Street delight at the parade. The Riverwalk lawn brims with picnic-ers and music lovers. Kids splash in the Blue River. The whole family will find fun and community.
Trail Mix and Summer Arts
Violinists in trees? Sculptures in water? The Breckenridge arts scene continues to surprise. Check back to learn more about summer arts, music and cultural events.
Autumn
Breckenridge Festival of Film
With a focus on independent film makers, this festival gives up-close access to industry creatives making their mark today.
Breckenridge Wine Classic
Winemakers, sommeliers and chefs share their unique vintages and flavors set against fine fall foliage. Don’t miss the wine pairing dinners and seminars at the Grand Tasting at Beaver Run Resort.
Breck-toberfest
Breckenridge’s Oktoberfest will make you want to polka with high energy music, good beers, better food, and fun for the whole family.
Every season in Breckenridge deserves a celebration. We hope to see you soon!
